Executive Director
Martha Faupel has worked at the Food Bank of East Alabama for 12 years. Prior to the Food Bank she worked for five years at a local non-profit organization.
She was born and raised in Africa and says that seeing her parents teach in the Congo shaped who she is her more than her formal education did.
Martha majored in Greek and psychology in college.
Operations Manager
Donna Demous has worked at the Food Bank of East Alabama for six years and has been in food banking for nearly 20 years.
Her responsibilities include coordinating volunteers, systems administration at the Food Bank and Community Market, managing inventory and producing monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for the Board of Directors and the National Organization of Food Banks.
Warehouse Manager
Earl Mitchell oversees receiving, the placement of inventory into the dry storage, refrigerated or frozen sections of the warehouse, and distribution. He is responsible for the salvage operation which involves sorting and throwing away what doesn't meet the Food Bank's standards.
Earl works with Donna Demous to match volunteers to appropriate assignments. Most volunteers are either school-related volunteers, including an Auburn High School special education class, or court-ordered community service volunteers.
Earl graduated from Auburn University with a degree in history and has worked in food industry transportation, shipping and receiving.
